MODERNIZATION OF THE CITY`S HEAT SUPPLY SYSTEM

MODERNIZATION OF THE CITY`S HEAT SUPPLY SYSTEM (download brochure)

Oleksandriia is the city with the population of 100.000 in the central part of Ukraine, which is moving towards energy independence and security.

Population – 90 thousand.

Internally displaced persons – 10 thousand.

Area – 55.5 square kilometers.

Establishments of education, culture, and health care – 56.

The city`s heat supply system includes 20 boiler houses, of which one boiler room has a cogeneration unit since 2015.

Today, there is a prospect of installing cogeneration units at 4 boiler houses – this requires international technical assistance funds in the amount of 999.900 Euro.

Due to the constant shelling of energy facilities across the country, millions of Ukrainians will be left without heat and light this winter.

People will look for solution

1. Going abroad.

  2. Search for relatives and acquaintances in the villages.

3. Schools and hospitals will be closed.

But Oleksandriia has another option!

The Oleksandriia city council attracted international technical assistance from USAID for the Municipal Enterprise «Teplokommunenergo» under The Energy Security Project “ESP” for the installation of 4 cogeneration units with a total electric capacity of 1484 kW in the amount of 1.543.000 Euro.

Cogeneration units installation projects are implemented in accordance with the strategic priority for rational management, contribute to energy conservation and reduction of emissions into the environment.

The resulting cogeneration units will provide a sustainable heat supply to 232 houses, 16 educations institutions, 9 kindergartens and 9 hospitals.

1. The district boiler houses – the largest in the city, must undergo reconstruction with the installation of connection points for the cogeneration unit QUANTO 1000 NGSE. It has a thermal power of Qyct 42.9 Gcal/h, an electric power of Pyct 972 kW.

What work needs to be done? – Prepare the site, build a room to accommodate a cogeneration unit, connect to engineering networks.

Heat load on the boiler house: 177 blocks of flats, 13 educational establishments, 5 kindergartens, 3 hospitals.

Similar cogeneration units but of lower capacity, should be installed at other municipal boiler houses.

2. Boiler room No:3 with the arrangement of the connection point of the CENTO 120 C cogeneration unit: thermal power Qyct 5,0 Gcal/h, electric power Pyct 148 kW.

Provides heat to 16 blocks of flats.

With the heat of generated electricity, it is possible to launch a school boiler room, and this is a heat supply for 400 students of the school.

Cost of the project – 91.640 Euro.

3. Boiler house of the Southern microdistrict with the arrangement of the connection point of the KE-MNG 260 EKO-BE cogeneration unit: thermal power Qyct 20 Gcal/h, electic power Pyct 211 kW.

Provides heat to 22 blocks of flats, 1 school, 2 kindergartens.

Cost of the project – 100.150 Euro.

4. Boiler room №35 with the arrangement of the connection point of the KE-MNG 100 BS cogeneration unit: thermal power Qyct 5,06 Gcal/h, electric power Pyct 130 kW.

Provides heat to 17 blocks of flats and 2 kindergartens.

Cost of the project – 57.650 Euro.
